Who I am

This site, fubs-uk.com, is run by fubs (fubs_uk on Twitch), an individual based in the United Kingdom. I am the controller of the personal data collected through this site under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What this site collects

When you visit. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes your IP address, browser details and the pages you request so it can serve the site and protect it from attacks. The web host keeps similar technical logs. I rely on legitimate interests (keeping the site running and secure) for this.

Your cookie choice. When you answer the cookie banner, SureCookie saves your choice in a cookie in your browser. It also records your choice on the site with a shortened IP address (the last part removed), your approximate location (country and region) and the date and time. This is kept as proof of your consent.

Comments. If you comment on a blog post, WordPress stores the name, email address and website you enter, your comment, your IP address and your browser details. Your name, website and comment are shown publicly; your email address is not. An anonymised string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to Gravatar, run by Automattic, to show your profile picture if you have one. The legal basis is your consent, given when you post the comment.

No analytics or advertising. This site does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Its fonts are hosted on this site, not loaded from Google.

Third-party services

Twitch. The Live page embeds the Twitch player and chat. When they load, Twitch (owned by Amazon) receives your IP address and browser details and may set its own cookies, particularly if you are signed in to Twitch. The Gaming page shows clips from my Twitch channel. Their preview images are stored on this site, so your browser only contacts Twitch when a clip player loads. The player, chat and clips only load after you accept marketing cookies or press Accept & Load. Links to Twitch elsewhere on the site take you to Twitch itself. See the Twitch privacy notice.

The forum. forum.fubs-uk.com is a separate site with its own account sign-up, and is not covered by this policy.

Discord. The Discord links take you to the fubs_uk server on Discord, a separate service covered by the Discord privacy policy. Nothing from Discord loads on this site.

Cookies

  • Cookie consent (SureCookie): remembers your cookie choice so the banner does not appear on every page. Essential.
  • Comment cookies (WordPress): only if you tick the box to save your name and email for next time. Kept for one year.
  • Login cookies (WordPress): only for people who sign in to manage the site.
  • Twitch cookies: set by Twitch on the Live page, as described above.

To change your cookie choice, clear this site’s cookies in your browser and the banner will appear again.

How long data is kept

  • Cloudflare and web host logs: for the periods set by those providers.
  • Cookie consent records: kept as a record of the consent you gave.
  • Comments: until you ask me to delete them, or I remove them.

Who data is shared with

Only the services named in this policy, and only as described. I never sell your data. Cloudflare, Automattic and Twitch may process data outside the UK, including in the United States, under their own safeguards for international transfers.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data I hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. You can also ask me to restrict or stop using it, ask for a copy to take elsewhere, and withdraw consent at any time. Email [email protected] and I will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
